A girder having a box-shaped profile and consisting of two webs of structural plate and two flanges which connect the structural plates along their uppermost and lowermost edges. In order to combat delamination of the structural plate and produce a durable connection between web and flanges, the flanges 3 are formed from metal plate which is bent with edge lobes 7 and 10 forming a U- shaped groove which embraces the edge of the structural plate and which lobes are provided with impressions 10 at least in the outermost of the edge lobes 7. <IMAGE>
