The burner consists of a storage silo (3) filled from a supply line (2). The charcoal is discharged through a metering tube (4) to a feed pipe (5) which receives a supply of combustion air. The feed is connected electrically to controls (6) for the flow of charcoal to the burner box with electrical ignition. It includes a flue gas cyclone (7) which separates the ashes from the charcoal allowing them to drop to the bottom for disposal.
