The valve or tap for liquids comprises a housing (1) with bore (2) in which one ceramic disc (3) with seating face (5) is fixed and another one (4) with corresponding face (6) is rotatable. The fixed disc has ports (7,8) connecting with housing inlet (29) and outlet (30)' and the rotatable disc has a downwards open passage (9) to connect these ports. The housing cover (20) is removable for inserting the discs. The operating stem (12), together with the rotatable disc, are held in a cup-shaped element (10) which fits sealingly in the housing bore. Further sealing rings (36) are provided between the ports and the housing ducts (33,34) to the connection branches (29, 30).
