PURPOSE:To improve the liquid leak proof of a cell, by forming the side wall of a positive electrode can into configuration gradually and outward by curved from its bottom part, fitting a negative electrode sealing plate into the opening of said can and then tightening inward the side wall of the positive electrode can to seal the cell with a gently curved portion. CONSTITUTION:Into a positive electrode can 1 of a cup-shape a positive electrode compound 5, mainly composed of, for instance, silver oxide, semipermeable membrane 6 and liquid absorptive paper 7 are successively filled. On the other hand, into a negative electrode sealing plate 8 a negative electrode compound 9, mainly consisting of zinc powder, is internally filled. Said sealing plate 8 is fitted into the opening of the positive electrode can 1 through an insulating packing 10 to hermetically seal the opening and construct a button-shaped cell. The positive electrode can 1 of said cell is formed in such a manner that its side wall 4 is outwardly and gradually curved at a position from its bottom part 2 to an edge portion 3 of the opening. For sealing the cell, the side wall is squezed by tightening it gradually and inwardly from the lower portion of the side wall 4 and the side wall 4 is then bent inwardly so as to form a gentle curvature. |
