PURPOSE:To improve durability of a small amount of adsorbent, by employing an arrangement in which removal of phosphorous components contained in metalling oil by way of adsorption is not effected in a temperature range of catalyst where phosphor contamination of catalyst does not tend to take place. CONSTITUTION:A directional control valve 15 is disposed at a joining portion of metalling-oil supply pipe 11 and by-pass pipe 14 for by-passing metalling oil from adsorbent 13. When the temperature of catalyst 6 is higher than a predetermined temperature (700 deg.C), the directional control valve 15 functions to pass metalling oil to adsorbent 13 by means of temperature detector 17 for detecting the temperature of catalyst 6 by temperature sensor 16. On the other hand, when temperature of catalyst 6 is lower than the predetermined temperature, valve 15 functions to pass metalling oil to by-pass pipe 14. That is, phosphorous components in metalling oil is adsorbed by adsorbent 13 only when phosphor contamination of catalyst 6 tends to occur. Therefore, durability of adsorbent 13 can be improved considerably. |
