<p>A building unit consists of (a) a combustible substrate, (b) a metal film bonded to one side of the substrate, and (c) a resin-impregnated fabric of fireproof fibres bonded to the other side of the metal film. The wt. of a combustible substrate is not greatly increased. Easily available materials are used. The substrate is given a durable surface. Substrates include timber, plywood, chipboard, and synthetic foams, e.g. polystyrene or polyurethane foam.</p> |
