A solar heat absorber consists of a length of copper tubing which is bent to a meandering coil for the passage of a heat carrier medium. The coil is arranged inside a rectangular box of zinc plated iron sheets which is closed on top by a sealed glass plate. The walls of the box and its bottom are surrounded by a thick layer of heat insulation, preferably polyurethane foam. The tubes are bonded to the bottom of the box by an adhesive with an admixture of aluminium powder for good heat conductivity. Such an absorber can be produced at low cost and has a high heat exchange efficiency.
|
