The launcher for propelling a toy disc has a flat handle which is manually gripped by a user. A launch housing is attached to the handle and has a slot capable of receiving the disc. A flat leaf spring in the housing is receivable in a recess in the rim of the disc. A retractable catch holds the disc against the tension of the spring. A release bar operated from outside the housing and handle retract the catch and allows the spring, which is biassed and curved, to propel the disc from the slot and to cause the disc to spin.
