<p>The spindle drive has a speed-controlled motor and a gear. A selected speed generator (20) is coupled to the motor's control deVice and located near the gears such that when a gear wheel is disengaged (by sliding laterally) the control device interrogates the selected speed generator. With a single-spindle lathe, the spindle is connected to an output spindle (12) which is, in turn, connected to the selected speed generator. Each gear stage has its own selector speed generator coupled to a multiplier (15) in the control device. The limit switch that detects when the gear has changed is also coupled to the control device.</p> |
