When the contact pressure of the fiber strand 1a reaches the specific quantity of penetration, the detection signal of an axial force sensor part 33 is fed back to stop the motor 24. Thus, the end surfaces are brought into contact with each other with specific pressure and discharging is carried out for a specific time to weld both together. Further, the signal of a strain gauge 33 is fed back simultaneously with or right after the stop of the discharging and the axial force control is so performed that the axial pressure is zero.
