PURPOSE:To miniaturize the whole driving circuit, by combining a GTO with two kinds of FET for high tension resistance and for low tension resistance, and by organizing the driving circuit. CONSTITUTION:When signal for input to terminals combined optically by PWM signal is provided, then an FET 14, FET 12, FET 14', and FET 12' are turned ON, and specified current is made to flow from the gate G of a GTO 11 to a cathode K, and the GTO 11 is turned ON, and the driving current of specified cycle is conducted to an AC machine. On the other hand, when a control circuit is turned OFF, then the FET 14, 12, 14', 12' are turned OFF, and the cathode K of the GTO 11 is made open, and so the GTO 11 is arc-extinguished straight-away, and current is interrupted. Diodes 13, 13' are worked as fly-wheel diodes, and are also worked as diodes for rectification on regeneration.
