PURPOSE:To obtain a rubber composition for tire tread having improved and balanced traction performance and high-speed durability, by using a specific amount of a specific solution-polymerized styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber as a rubber component. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be produced by compounding and kneading 100pts.wt. of a rubber component containing >=30pts., preferably 50-100pts. of a specific styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber with 60-150pts. of carbon black and other additives. The styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber is a rubber produced by solution polymerization in the presence of a lithium- based catalyst and having a glass-transition temperature (Tg) of >-60 deg.C and a peak half-value width of tandelta curve and the line of tandelta=1/2a wherein a is peak value of tan delta determined from a temperature-tandelta dispersion curve.
