PURPOSE:To increase the length and the surface area of hollow yarn membrane facing to liquid, enhance the backwash efficiency generated by foam spouting and the like and increase filter characteristics and drain effect of backwash liquid by supporting the hollow yarn membrane being twisted. CONSTITUTION:The hollow yarn membranes 2 consisting of a number of polyethylene and the like are bundled with both ends put in order, and both of the bases 3 and 4 are fixed with seals. The bases 3 and 4 are twisted to reverse direction each other and maintained with the supporting bar 5 at a fixed interval. After raw liquid is led in from the inlet 7 and filter treated, the foams are formed by the injected air out from the inside of hollow membrane for backwash treatment to remove the fine particles caught on the surface of hollow membrane. At the time of said process, the foams rise up hitting the tilted hollow yarn membrane on the top to achieve a superb backwash efficiency.
