Thiadiazolyl-hexanhydro triazine herbicides - 1-(1-alkyl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)-3-alkyl-5-substd-hexahydro-s-tr- iazin-2-ones, prepd from thiadiazole ureas, formaldehyde and amines

The novel title cpds. are of formula (I) (where R1 and R2 are lower alkyl and R3 is alkenyl, (cyclo)alkyl, haloalkyl or where X is alkenyl, halogen, (halo)alkyl, NO2, alkoxy, alkylthio or dialkylamino; m is 0-3 and n is 0-3). They have selective herbicidal activity against weeds, e.g. wild oats, carpet weed and dandelion, and are applied at the rate of 1.2 oz - 10 lb/acre. They are prepd. by reacting first with HCHO then with NH2R3.
