PURPOSE:To set the size of a gap of a magnetic head to a desired value depending various conditions by providing a nonmagnetic electromechanic conversion element as a magnetic head gap member and giving a drive voltage via a head core clipping the said element. CONSTITUTION:Cores 1a, 1b formed by a magnetic material such as a ferrite are adhered by gap members 4a, 4b constituted by a nonmagnetic piezoelectric ceramic member having the piezoelectric effect. Further, the core 1a has a winding window 1d being a form of a fitting face notched in a truncated shape and a magnetic head coil 3 is wound by using the opening. Electrodes 5a, 5b are fitted to drive the cores 1a, 1b respectively and the gap members 4a, 4b are expanded/contracted in the direction A shown in figure by controlling a voltage fed to the electrodes 5a, 5b to control the size of the gap of the magnetic head to a desired value. |
