PURPOSE:To obtain a reproduced picture free from skew distortion by employing 262.5H for the number of horizontal synchronizing signals in one field in recording with standard tape speed, and specifying specific number of the said signals in various one field in frame photographing mode. CONSTITUTION:In the standard mode of operation, an output pulse fV1 from a frequency divider 38 is supplied to a vertical deflection circuit 46 to employ 262.5H for the number of the horizontal synchronizing signals of respective recording tracks. In case of executing the picture-recording in the frame photographing mode, the numbers of the horizontal synchronizing signals in respective fields are made 525+ or -(2n+1)/2H where the (n) is an integer. In said latter mode, since the moving lobe of a switch 41 is connected to a terminal S, an output pulse fV2 from a frequency divider 40 is supplied to a flip-flop(FF) 42 and a 1/2-H-shift circuit 43. The FF 42 repeats ON/OFF in response to the vertical synchronizing signal fV2, hence turns ON at the signal fV2 in an even- number-th field to delay the scan-starting time of the said field by 1/2H by shifting the vertical synchronizing signal by 1/2H.
