Case: Clark 1 A METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE REDUCTION OF AQUEOUS THIOSULFATE SOLUTIONS The reduction of-sodium, potassium, or ammonium thiosulfate in aqueous solution by a reducing gas containing CO is conducted in a reduction zone under conditions effective to produce an effluent gas containing CO2 and H2S and an effluent aqueous solution containing carbonates and sulfides. The ratio of sulfides to carbonates in the aqueous solution is maintained at a desired value in response to the mol ratio of CO2 to H2S in the effluent gas, preferably by regulating the amount of a CO2-containing portion of the effluent gas which is recycled directly or indirectly to the reduction zone.
|
