PURPOSE:To reduce a noise of a cooling fan in the course of a standby mode by providing a rotating speed control means for switching a rotating speed of the cooling fan in response to an operation mode and the standby mode. CONSTITUTION:A cooling fan 11 is rotated by a prescribed high revolving speed so that an ambient temperature of a fixing device 9 does not exceed a prescribed temperature area in the same way as usual, when a heat dissipation amount of the fixing device 9 has been raised in an operation mode. However, in case of the standby mode before being shifted to the operation mode, the heat dissipation amount of the fixing device 9 becomes pretty smaller than that in the operation mode, therefore, this device is provided with a rotating speed control means 12 for switching a rotating speed of the cooling fan 11 to a low speed so as to suppress the rotating speed lower than a prescribed high revolving speed in the operation mode. In this way, a noise of the cooling fan in the course of the standby mode can be made as small as possible. |
