PURPOSE:To remove a monomer from a polymer efficiently, by heating and/or treating by-products, e.g. polymer granules or scales, pulverized in the presence of water, in vacuo. CONSTITUTION:By-products, e.g. polymer granules or scales, obtained in the polymer preparation, and water are fed to the scale reservoir 1, circulated through the reservoir 1, pulverizer 3, and separator 7 sucked slightly, and pulverized into a slurry of particle size of about 100-400mu. The slurry is then fed to the monomer removal tank 2 and heated to evaporate the monomer with the steam introduced from the inlet 6 under agitating with the blades 8. The evaporated monomer is sucked by the blower 5, cooled by the condenser 4, and recovered. |
