PURPOSE:To enable the stable contact of a magnetic head, by forming the shape of a gimbal spring in an asymmetric shape in which the width of the side at the upstream side of an inner frame part in parallel with the travelling direction of a magnetic disk is narrowed compared with that of the side at a downstream side, and strengthening rigidity only at the downstream side. CONSTITUTION:The shape of the gimbal spring is formed so that the upstream side width W1 of an inner frame shape part (b) in an orthogonal direction to the travelling direction of a part forming a side in parallel with the travelling direction of the magnetic disk, is formed narrower compared with that of a downstream side width W2. By forming a device in such way, the rigidity of the gimbal spring at a center square part is weakened at the upstream side, and is strengthened at the downstream side, thereby, the inclination of the magnetic head at a recording and reproducing time can be prevented from generating by the rigidity at the downstream side, and as a whole, the rigidity at the upstream side is weakened. In such way, the inclination of the magnetic head at the travelling time of the disk is difficult to occur, and a superior electromagnetic transfer characteristic can be obtained by the stable contact of the magnetic head.
