Glass case for displaying works of art - has transparent, airtight cover maintaining inert atmosphere supplied by gas bottle under display stand

The glass case is for displaying and conserving objects e.g. antiques and works of art in an atmosphere of an inert gas. It has a stand (2) for the objects on which a cover (6) made in transparent material, is sealed (7). Under the stand there is a compartment (8) which contains at least one bottle (10) of inert gas under pressure. The gas is passed through a tube (14) into the case which is kept at a pressure slightly greater than atmospheric pressure. There is also a non-return valve (16) in the stand to keep the pressure at a predetermined level.
