<p>Mixer for charging a liq. prod. in fixed constant proportion into a pipe in which a liq. flows under pressure, comprises a body which is connected to the pipe and which defines a direct channel and a by-pass channel. Direct channel is formed as a venturi and thus contains a zone of reduced pressure. Suction chamber for the liq. prod. opens into the zone of low pressure. Valve regulates the flow of liq. prod. to the suction chamber. Clack is mounted in the by-pass channel and is arranged to adjust the area of passage so as to maintain constant the ratio between the pressure upstream of the lack and the pressure downstream of it. Mixer incorporates means of coupling the control of the valve to the posn. of the clack so that the closing of the valve puts the clack in the position of max. opening of the by- pass channel. Invention is partic. applicable to the obtaining of a water- emulsifier mixt. for fire-fighting from water and an emulsifier prod. It reduces the pressure drop when the suction of liq. prod. is dispensed with, e.g. when it is desired to discharge water.</p> |
