Problems of making calculations to determine inclination from a telemeter output are avoided by use of an inclinometer which provides numerical readout. Two axes are measured and indicated as well as the resultant for use in navigation or civil works. Two curved strips (3) inside hemispheres (1,2) correspond with the X and Y coordinates to form a right angle. These strips reflect a pair of beams (4,5) from a single source (6) to be detected by two photocells (7,8) mounted with the source in suspended pendulum assemblies. The pendulum oscillation is damped by liquid in the hemispheres. A transducer converts the electric pulses from the photocells to provide a numerical readout in the three view finders.
|
