<p>Sheets of glass or plastic material are stacked with spacers between them at their edges ot suit the grooves in the timber, metal or plastic (e.g. PVC) of the frame members to form the leaves of windows and doors, and the frame members are pushed in pneumatically or hydraulically. Each leaf has at least two sheets of transparent material and after fitting into the grooves of the frame, a mastic having a viscosity between 4000 and 60000 centripises is injected to bond panes, spacers and members. The mastic is polymerisable in situ, it has one or more components and is pref. a polyrethane, a polysulphide or a silicone. The whole assembly requires only one operation.</p> |
