<p>The assisted vehicle steering system has an input shaft extended by a distribution sleeve, the latter housing a tubular rotor. An internal torsion bar is fixed at one end to the rotor, and at the other end is fixed to the input member. The distribution sleeve has two pairs of diametrically opposed orifices displaced both angularly and axially, the rotor having two pairs of axial grooves. They provide communication between orifices of different pairs, a high pressure source and a drain being permanently connected to one pair of orifices. The pressure drop in the grooves is proportional to the angular displacement of the rotor when the latter is rotated.</p> |
