PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a hot-water boiler for making it more compact and to improve the heat exchange efficiency by providing a flue formed by a double cylinder in a boiler body, together with a diaphragm between a combustor and a connecting portion of the combustor with an exhaust pipe. CONSTITUTION:Inside a boiler body 1 having a feed-water port 3 and a tap hole 4 and containing water to be heated, a heat exchanger 5 comprising a double cylinder, outer and inner cylinders 5a and 5b, with the upper and lower ends closed is provided. A flue 7, which is formed between the cylinders, is divided into two, the first and second flues 7a and 7b by means of a diaphragm 8 with a length of approximately 3/4 of the total circumference. A combustion chamber 6 is communicated with the flue 7a near the center of the diaphragm 8, and an exhaust pipe 9 is connected with the flue 7b above the flue 7a. Thus, the length of the combustion chamber 6 can be longer in the boiler body 1, so that a sufficient combustion distance can be secured between a combustor 10 and the heat exchanger 5. Moreover, providing the combustion chamber 6 in the water in the boiler body 1 permits the heat exchange efficiency to be improved. |
