<p>A biological cleaning system of water to produce drinking water by oxidn. of the contaminants is based on saturating the water in a diffuser with air or oxygen. The stream is admitted to another tank where it rises in fluid vortex to effect a bacterial oxidn, of the contaminants. Clean water is discharged by an overflow and the sludge is extracted from the bottom. An impeller (8), driven by the motor (9), urges the water (7) which has arrived in the recption tank (1) through pipe (2), into a Venturi (5). Oxygen is admitted through an immersed diffuser (12), containing a porous cartridge (15) along spiral tubes (17) to which the pipes (19,20,21) admit aluminium sulphate, a flocculant, and activated carbon. This saves chlorine and prevents the formation of chlorophenolics. The power consumption is reduced to a min. and the formation of bubbles has been eliminated.</p> |
