<p>The rotating seal consists of two outer metal rings (1,2) with L-shaped cross-sections, which when assembled form an annulus which houses the flexible elastomeric packing (3d). The packing is formed with contact lips which ensure a minimal area of contact with the rotating inner ring (2) at the contact points (5) and thus a minimal coefficient of friction. The contact pressure exerted by the rings on the packing is maintained at a predetermined level by a spring (24). The packing is held by the outer ring (1) and which is itself retained by the retention part (6) of the inner ring (2).</p> |
