The adaptor comprises two groups of lens elements, the first group having a converging focal length F1. The second group of lens elements has a diverging focal length F2 and both groups form a focal unit. The unit is placed between the eye of the person viewing and the input end of the micro-endoscope to provide a new magnification G2. The degree of new magnification is determined by the relationship G2=(G1 x F1)/F2 where G1 is the original magnification provided by the instrument. The unit can also be used with a camera.
