The safety lock has a bistable lever (3) forming part of a switching spindle (4). The spindle has three cams (8-10). One of the cams (10) engages one of two pawls (11-11a) acted on by a spring (14). The pawls cover an access hole (12) for the lock plate (13). The device (15,15') that disconnects the supply circuit of the magnetron is actuated by the lever and pawls. Above the lower flange of the lock is a bearing bolt (6) which acts as the central location of a helical compression spring (7).
