The multilayer plywood plate is used as a base plate for containers etc. It has several veneers glued over each other in such a way that the direction of the wood grain coincides with the longitudinal direction of the plate. On both sides of the plate several thinner veneers are glued above each other so that a part of tbe thinner veneers extends transverse to the longitudinal direction of the plate. Calculated from the cover surfaces the third and fifth of the thinner veneers extend transverse to the length of the plate.The middle thicker veneers have a thickness between 2 and 4 mm, preferably about 3.3 mm with the tbinner veneers being about half that thickness i.e. about 1.5 mm.
