The lever operated bicycle drive has a chain drive linked to the rear wheel and driven by a lever pivoted between the ends of the chain and linked to the chain by two freewheel cogs. One cog operates on the pull stroke of the lever and the other on the thrust stroke, and with the cogs set over each other. The drive uses the weight of the rider, with the lever supporting the saddle. The freewheel cogs are set to freewheel in opposing directions. No other drive mechanism is required.
|
