The combined combustion engine inlet and exhaust valve assembly comprises a valve centrally arranged relative to the combustion chamber and a slidable bush (21) with seating face (24), as in accordance with 2911163. The inlet and exhaust ducts are arranged above each other in the direction of valve movement, and connect into a common part (20) in which the bush slides. The valve disc can seat on a seat ring to close both inlet and exhaust parts, or on the bush only to close the inlet, whilst the bush can seat on the ring to close the exhaust part only.
