The soil working machine has a frame with rotating tools, such as a rotary harrow with several tined tool rotors transverse to the direction of travel. In front of the rotating tools is a long slide element which extends transverse to the direction of travel and can be raised and lowered so it lies on the ground. The slide element (13,25) is suspended on a guide device on the frame in the form of a linkage gearing (14,14') or a sliding guide block. This guides the slide element relative to the frame (1,1') in an upwards pointing path.
