The circuit consists essentially of a memory device (38) for storing a numerical code which indicates that a number of pulses from a clock pulse source (26) must be eliminated before they are fed to the time measuring device via the output (28). A counting device (30) is provided which fixes a time interval in relation to the numerical code. A circuit (24) has gates (60, 62, 64, 66) which ensure temporary interruption of the pulses on the path from the input (26) to the output (28), in order in this way to permit tuning to a frequency of, for example, 32768 Hz. <IMAGE>
