Process for improving the hydrolysis stability of fibre- and film-forming polyesters

Enhancement of the viscosity and improvement of the hydrolysis stability of fibre- and film-forming polyesters through addition of sterically hindered polycarbodiimides (see formula I). Suitability for highly hydrolysis-stable polyester applications, for example as machine wires or belts in papermaking, as reinforcements for vulcanised rubber products or fibre webs for filtration purposes.
