HV generator for X=ray tubes - has RC circuit and potential divider in parallel with rectifiers

The h.v. generator provides greater protection near the tube operating limits and accurate measurement of the tube current. The generator comprises a three-phase transformer (2) with splut secondaries (3, 4) and two h.v. bridge rectifier circuits (5, 6) connected to the secondary windings. To reduce random effects in the X-ray tube (1) when this is driven near its limits, each rectifier unit has a R-C circuit (9, 10) and a bleed resistor (11, 12) connected in parallel with it. The bleed resistors are in the form of potential dividers and are used to measure the X-ray tube operating voltage. The measuring instrument (7) is connected between the two sets of circuits. The application is for X-ray diagnostic appts.
