The system is used in sports stadiums and elsewbere. It uses individual blocks, telescoping together, with lateral edges forming carriers for rollers, and movable with the aid of a carriage when pushed together. The blocks combine to make up a mobile platform stage. One block (2) is connected to the carriage (10), and this is equipped with a hoist device for raising the blocks which are telescoped together above the carriage. The carriage pref. bears an eccentrically mounted wheel (20) which can turn to grip the outermost apex piece below parts of the block, and raise it. It can also have a power-driven plunger to grip below parts of the assembled blocks and raise them. The carriage is able to travel as an entity, with no need to keep a special hoist carriage available.
