PURPOSE:To enable a satisfactory gradation expression without increasing the kinds of coloring materials to be used, by having a first process for discharging liquid drips containing a first coloring material onto a predetermined pixel area by a fixed number of times and a second process for discharging liquid drips containing a second coloring material onto the predetermined pixel area by a fixed number of times. CONSTITUTION:To realize a multivalued density system using two types of inks, it is necessary that an ink drip (a first coloring material) discharged from a first head 6A is sufficiently absorbed and, thereafter, the other ink drip (a second coloring material) is discharged from a second head 6B. Therefore, where a distance between the recording heads is P(m) and a travel speed of the recording heads is Vp(m/sec), P and Vp are selected so as to meet a relation of F/Vp> Tp. Tp is a time required for the ink drip to be absorbed into a recording paper. In this manner, a multi-gradation recording can be conducted with a first process for discharging liquid drips containing the first coloring material onto a predetermined pixel area by a fixed number of times and a second process for discharging liquid drips containing the second coloring material onto the predetermined pixel area by a fixed number of times. |
