The hydraulic system is for a tractor or similar machine, having one or more pressure pumps supplying consumer units, together with a fluid reservoir and filter. The filter is a low-pressure one (14) in the pressure pipe (13) from a feed pump (12), this pressure pipe also acting as the common suction pipe for all the pressure pumps (19,21,22). In it there can be a non-return valve (23) opening towards the latter, which can be equipped with a separate auxiliary suction pipe (24) directly from the reservoir (3,4).
