The lock for the lid of a pressure cooker is easy to manipulate and consists of at least one hook which is attached to the lid and it can be moved to below the rim of the pressure cooker. There is a locking shaft which rotates by means of a lever arranged parallel to the pivot axis of the hook. The shaft is pushed horizontally in a helical groove. The hook has a bolt operating in conjunction with a deflector on the shaft. The hooks are positioned on the same bearing shaft in a vertical elongated hole. A secure fastening of the lid is obtd.
