There is described the preparation of pigments of the formula I <IMAGE> where the symbols R are independently of each other chlorine or bromine. The process involves the condensation of 2 mol equivalents of a compound of the formula II <IMAGE> where X is =NH, =(O-alkyl)2, S or Cl2, with 1 mol equivalent of a diamine of the formula III <IMAGE> The pigments obtained are used for colouring plastics materials.
