<p>An end face thrust seal, particularly for an automotive water pump, and comprising an annular elastomeric ring (11) having inner and outer rims (13) and (14) respectively, interconnected by a frustoconical portion (15).</p><p>A diaphragm spring (16) is embedded in the elastomeric ring (11) so that the outer annular portion (17) of the spring is at the outer rim (14), and the spring fingers (18) extend inwards forming a frustoconical spring (19) in the frustoconical portion of the elastomeric ring (11). The fingers (18) extend into the inner rim (13) and the inner portions (22) thereof are bent to extend axially away from the base of the cone and re-inforce the inner rim (13).</p> |
