PURPOSE:To obtain an electric resistor having stable resistance value even if it is left alone under high moisture for a long time, being obtainable by also firing a resistor material in a reducing atmosphere and not damaging a function even when high voltage is impressed on it by making to have a burned body containing molybdate of an alkaline earth metal and an oxygen free inorganic compound of titan. CONSTITUTION:It is a thick film resistor having a burned body containing molybdate of an alkaline earth metal and an oxygen free inorganic compound of titan. Further, it is a burned body having agglomerate particles (b), needle particles (c) sticking to agglomerate particles (b) or located near their neighborhood and a glass layer (a) and containing the oxygen free inorganic compound of titan, wherein agglomerate particles (b) contain molybdate of the alkaline earth metal and needle particles (c) contain a reducing product of the molybdate. Then, a resistor material containing molybdate of the alkaline earth metal or its precursor and the oxygen free inorganic compound of titan is given heat treatment and the resistor material obtained by the heat treatment is used for firing in order to obtain the electric resistor containing molybdate of the alkaline earth metal and the oxygen free inorganic compound of titan. |
