MANUFACTURE OF INGOT MOLDS A process for casting ingot molds wherein a smooth, rigid, thermally insulating board is used to form the as-cast bottom surface of the ingot mold to produce a smooth flat surface which does not require machining and to permit slow cooling and solidification so that a uniform macrostructure and microstructure is effected.
