TELEPHONE RANGE EXTENDER WITH GAIN The present invention relates to a telephone range extender. The extender is comprised of a unit for connecting the extender to a telephone central office and a unit for connecting the extender to a telephone subscriber loop. A subscriber loop resistance detector is connected to the subscriber loop connecting unit. A negative impedance bilateral amplifier is connected in a configuration. The amplifier is comprised of a central office side shunt negative impedance converter, a series negative impedance converter and a subscriber side impedance transformer. Each of the negative impedance converters is adjustable in response to the subscriber loop resistance detector.
