In the packaging for a glass capillary column, an inner box of hard cardboard or of a hard synthetic material, has strips of foamed rubber have bands of burr and loop fastening fabric, forms a packaging for very easily damaged objects of glass, esp. a spirally wound glass tube 5 to 100 meters long having an external diam. of 2mm and an internal diam. of 1mm, to be used as a gas chromatography column. The column is pressed against the side walls of at least three points. The foamed strips are folded over and are fixed by the tape fastenings. At the four corners of the inner box holes are provided for elastically suspending it inside an outer box.
