PURPOSE:To increase the rigidy of a piston without increasing a total weight of the piston for an internal combustion engine, by surrounding the periphery of small end parts of a connecting rod with a reinforcing frame part, which is formed as an integral unit with a pin boss part, in the piston having an oval pattern or the like in its plane shape. CONSTITUTION:A piston P consists of a head part H, skirt parts S, pin boss parts B and reinforcement wall parts W, and the head part H is ovally patterned in its plane shape. The pin boss part B comprises two pairs of left and right pin bosses 7, 8 to those of which a piston pin 9 is skeweredly supported, and small end parts of connecting rods 10 are linked to the pin 9 respectively. The reinforcement parts W are extensibly provided from each pair of the pin bosses, formed as an integral unit into a closed frame shape and extended downward from said pin bosses to surround the periphery of each connecting rod 10. The two reinforcement wall parts W are integrally connected to each other by a connecting wall 11 extended from the heat part H. |
