<p>PURPOSE:To improve adhesiveness to rubber, by treating aromatic polyamide fiber in a bath containing resorcin, formalin and rubber latex after treating the same in a bath containing a polyepoxy compound, blocked polyisocyanate compound and rubber latex. CONSTITUTION:Aromatic polyamide fiber is treated in the first treating bath containing (A) polyepoxide, (B) blocked polyisocyanate compound and (C) rubber latex, and then treated in the second treating bath containing resorcin, formalin and rubber latex. Here, it is preferable select the weight ratio of (A), (B) and (C) such that (A)/[(A)+(B)] is 0.05-0.9 and (C)/[(A)+(B)] is 0.5-1.5. Further, both of adhesiveness and flexibility of the aromatic polyamide fiber can be improved by adding in the second bath an ethylene urea compound represented by the formula shown in the drawing (where R is a residue or aromatic of fatty hydrocarbon; n is 0, 1, 2).</p> |
