The pump comprises an electric motor (16) and a pumping unit disposed inside a sealed container (1) having a lid (2). The fixing of the lid on the container maintains the motor and pumping unit in operational relationship, and maintains pump supply terminals (23) in electrical connection with terminals of the motor. The suction and delivery pipes (45) of the pumping are also held in position by fixing the lid to the container. The pumping unit is a peristaltic pump and the whole appts. is used in a vehicle windscreen washing system.
